In 2019, I moved to the UK in search of better opportunities for education and work. In May 2021, I began my journey toward earning a master’s degree at the University of the West of Scotland (UWS), which turned out to be an incredibly enriching experience. The university provided a dynamic and multicultural environment that broadened both my academic and personal perspectives.
As a student at UWS, I received great support from the faculty and staff. I also cannot overlook the invaluable resources that enhanced my learning journey. Additionally, the cultural experience of studying in London was truly rewarding. Being immersed in such a diverse city helped me navigate different perspectives and develop a global mindset—an essential asset in my professional life. Moreover, as the capital and largest city in the UK, London offers a wealth of career opportunities.
I graduated with an MSc in Project Management from the University of the West of Scotland (UWS), London campus, in 2023. This degree was a stepping stone toward my career, and I was eager to see how it would help me thrive in a competitive global market.
Graduating at a time when the economy was just beginning to recover from the disruptions caused by COVID-19 made job hunting particularly challenging. It took me four months of relentless job applications and interviews. I lost count of how many unsuccessful applications I submitted. After months of hearing, “We are sorry to inform you that you have not been selected,” I finally secured my first job—and the rest is history.
My degree from UWS London played a pivotal role in my career progression. The curriculum not only provided technical expertise but also honed essential soft skills such as communication, leadership, and problem-solving. This well-rounded approach gave me a competitive edge in the job market and prepared me to tackle industry challenges with confidence.
