Dr Priya Rajamani

I am working as a Lecturer in the School of Computing, Engineering and Physical Sciences at University of the West of Scotland, London, United Kingdom, having a total of 19+ years of experience altogether in industry, teaching and research. I am also a visiting faculty at Wuxi Taihu University, Binhu City, Shanghai, China.

As a dedicated academic with over 19 years of combined experience in industry, teaching, and research, I am committed to educating the next generation of technology professionals while advancing the fields of Digital Image Processing, Computer Vision, Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning and Cyber Security.

My primary goal is to equip students with the knowledge to develop well-engineered technological solutions. I strive to help students build a comprehensive understanding of emerging technologies while encouraging them to become ethical producers and consumers of technology. Beyond the classroom, I am passionate about mentoring undergraduate and postgraduate students through academic advising, internship placements, and career development.

My research centres on developing customized models in signal and image processing, including robust filter design, signal reconstruction, filter bank theory, wavelets, image restoration, compression, quality evaluation, computer vision, and medical imaging applications.

I have authored / coauthored over 25+ research articles in various reputed journals with high impact factor and international conferences in the areas of Image/Video signal Processing, Internet of Things, Deep Learning and Bio Medical Instrumentation. I have also contributed for peer reviewed book chapters in Elsevier, Springer, IET etc., and also published two patents in Internet of Things and Surveillance Robot. I am serving as a reviewer for many International Journals and Conferences. I am a life member in various professional societies like ISTE, IEEE, CSTA, ISRD London and UACEE.

I have been one of the research investigators in the funded projects funded by the DST-Government of India towards the development of Deep Learning Blade Server and IoT Security Defence Software for Cyber Threat Intelligence Centre. I have also received Seed Grant towards research contribution in Intelligence surveillance system project. I have been funded by the industry for successfully completing  two Industry consultancy projects . I am currently accepting PhD students and am open to collaborative research and consultancy opportunities with industry partners and organizations.
