Dr Alan Arokiam

Senior Lecturer

I am a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in Project and Operations Management. I have nearly two decades of experience lecturing in a broad range of UK Universities and working in industry.

My background is in both engineering and management, having completed my PhD at the University of Liverpool Engineering School I went on to work in the University of Liverpool Management School. I am a PRINCE2, MSP, M_o_R, Change Management and WITNESS Certified practitioner.

My research interests include energy and resource usage optimisation in operations and projects, large scale simulation modelling also known as digital twinning, AI driven support systems and IOT enabled data collection with the goal of improving sustainability in both operations and projects.

I have had several successful PhD student supervisions to completion and would welcome anyone who wishes to work in these broad areas under my supervision.

I have worked on several large-scale industry funded projects optimising energy and resources usage for the Ford Motor Company and several other SMEs. I have successfully secured several KTP grants and if you are a business with strategic problems, I can support you in securing KTP funding to help solve it or support you with direct consultancy.

In addition to lecturing on the master’s program, I lead the MSc projects and line manage AC3/AC2 level staff amongst other management activities.
