Dr Laurie Walden

My name is Dr Laurie Walden, and I a lecturer in MEd in Educational Studies. I joined UWS in 2022 after completing my PhD on Culturally Responsive Pedagogy at the University of Glasgow. I was a primary and secondary classroom teacher in the U.S. for 12 years and have a passion for teaching and learning. My research focus is on equality, diversity, and inclusion, with an emphasis on anti-racist practice in higher education. I was a co-lead on our UWS Athena Swan Bronze charter, and I currently produce the ESS podcast, Degrees of Freedom.
