Lecturer
Dr Gray Felton is a lecturer for the MEd, based on the London campus of the University of the West of Scotland. Their current research is in Philosophy of Education and is deeply concerned with the climate crisis and how we might seek to understand our relationship to the world, and to non-human others. Their forthcoming book, Radicle Education; What Plants can Teach us about Education seeks to show how plants have been overlooked and misunderstood in education and in philosophy. This research connects to ongoing engagement with educators around how we teach about plants, and why it matters.
Gray has worked in education for over a decade as a SENDCo and Educational Consultant, teaching in special and mainstream settings as an educator, as well as providing coaching and consultancy, training and INSET for SENDCos, Specialist teachers, and School leaders. After completing their post-doctoral studies at University College London, they lectured at Goldsmiths University, Winchester University and The University of Southampton.
