Dr Lakhbir Singh

I am a Senior Lecturer in Marketing at the University of the West of Scotland. I hold a PhD in Marketing. Before joining University of the West of Scotland, I was a Lecturer in Online Marketing at King’s College London. Prior to pursuing a career in academia, I worked in industry working on various projects relating to public and private sectors.

Currently I am working on two research projects. The first project is in collaboration with the University of Bedfordshire and looks at trust within the local population of Jamaica after a hurricane. This project has been successful in receiving funding from the UK Research and Innovation Global Challenges Research Fund and the QR Funding for Policy Research.

In collaboration with researchers from King’s College London, the second project is exploring Digital Intervention in Food Waste reduction. The aim of the study is to explore consumer perceptions and behaviours towards food waste reduction through the use of social apps.

I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and member of the British Academy of Management and the Academy of Marketing. I also hold external examiner positions at other UK higher education institutions.
