Dr Pedro Munoz-Ramirez

I teach in the modules of Comparative Public Policy Processes and Issues and Public Administration in Non-Western Countries. Currently I am conducting research at the Sustainable Policy Analysis Research Centre of this university, on subjects related to AI in policy analysis, AI in securities markets, and tourism policy.

Other research interests are Tourism and regional development, Tourism and sustainability, sustainability in the Global South, colonialism, and neocolonialism.

My non-academic experience spans through several ministries in the Costa Rican government (Education; Culture and Youth; Foreign Trade; Labour and Social Security), in the private sector, exporting perishables, and the online gambling industry, and in the social economy sector, where I cofounded a cooperative organisation dedicated to the promotion of technological change in Costa Rica and Central America.
