Sona Shadmand

I am a lecturer at the University of the West of Scotland, with a background of MSc in Project Management (Finance and Risk) from City, University of London. My professional trajectory reflects a transformative journey from project management professional to academia. With a PMP certification and over a decade of experience leading project management offices in construction industry, I’ve overseen various impactful projects and portfolios particularly in real estate sector. Prior to academia, I played key roles in managing and leading projects from conception to execution. My current focus involves integrating research, teaching, and innovation by prioritizing students’ engagement and active learning. I’m driven by a passion to enrich academic research by linking theoretical concepts with practical applications. My areas of expertise encompass Strategic Management and Sustainability, Project Risk Management, Project Management of Renewable Energy scheme, Portfolio Management and Business Analysis, Projects’ Performance Analysis, Change Management and Leadership.
