The Role
The Admissions Counsellor is a client-facing role and is part of the Admissions and marketing team. The role-holder will represent TEG to prospective students and organisations and works to increase enquiries and convert applications into enrolled students. They will use their superior customer service skills and professionalism throughout daily interactions and communications with students including interviews, phone calls, emails and information sessions. The Counsellor will create and implement recruitment strategies to reach prospective students through events, referrals, online and print communications, and outreach opportunities to businesses and organisations. The role-holder will be expected to work independently, pro-actively as well as collaboratively.Person Specification
- Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate subject area
- Master’s degree in an appropriate subject area
- Experience of working in recruiting, management, sales and academic counselling to adults or in a similar role/area in UK HE/FE
- Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills including well-developed presentation skills
- Must be proficient in use of MS Office suite, social media and marketing via the internet as a tool
- Must be able to work some evenings and weekends as required
- Must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively with team members, faculty, students, alumni, administrators and staff.
