Programme information

The MBA pathway programme has a number of core modules, which will enable students to lead from within through innovation and creative thinking, shaping them into a leader for the ever changing context of Business. The modules are interdisciplinary in nature enabling students to critically demonstrate and understand the integration of key business functions enhancing their ability to design and deliver effective organisation wide strategies across sections. 

Students are required to complete three core modules: Fundamentals of Senior Management, The Strategic Manager and Professional Management and Research Skills. 

Students undertaking the Digital Marketing Pathway will have to complete the two optional modules: Digital Marketing Strategies and Theoretical Perspectives in Digital Marketing.

At the dissertation stage there is an option of either the Strategic Business Project or the Developing Professional Practice module which will enable students to work with an employer on a project related to Leadership.

Programme Leader: Master of Business Administration (with pathways)

Dr Melissa Kerr is the Programme Leader of the Masters of Business Administration (with pathways) within the School of Business and Creative Industries. She has worked as a lecturer in Higher Education on both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the UK and Australia. Her areas of research and teaching include Change Management, Human Resource Management, Organisational Behaviour, Strategic Management and Labour History. Her research examined the impact of public employment services on labour market outcomes. Melissa completed her PhD at the University of Sydney in 2012.

To study a post graduate programme with UWS London, applicants are expected to hold at least an ordinary degree from a UK institution, or an equivalent qualification if the applicant has studied outside of the UK.

Applications are also welcome from individuals who do not meet the academic requirements for each programme but can demonstrate significant professional experience in a relevant field.

You will normally be expected to have at least one of the following:

  • A degree awarded by an appropriate institution
  • A postgraduate award (passed at an appropriate level)
  • An appropriate professional qualification such as those from ACCA or CIMA
  • Passed a Pre Master’s programme at relevant level
  • Relevant work or professional experience
